#ThirstyThursday: Birthday Edition
So it was the big day. The one that always seemed light years away as a kid. I am finally 21, and while I had no idea how my 21st birthday has arrived, I did know one thing for sure—I was so ready to celebrate.
However, before this celebration could begin, I had to make the very important decision as to what my first drink should be. That was a big decision, one that will stay with me far longer than the buzz.
So what drink earned the victor’s crown? That would be Juliet Ristorante’s romantic Rose Collins. As soon as I saw it on the menu, I was sold. Made of gin, dolin blanc, lemon, a roasted rose petal, and club soda—it was the dream drink.
The cocktail’s hint of rose added a unique sweetness to the traditional Tom Collins. It was bubbly, delightful, and even topped with a toasted rose petal (I mean come on, what more could you want?) It was the perfect balance between different and approachable. Sure it had an interesting and unfamiliar twist, but it still felt like you were drinking your reliable pal, good ol’ Tommy. Needless to say, I could not be more pleased with this decision for my first drink.
